Birding

The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary’s wetlands have come to life!  A sight not seen in many years has now presented itself.  There is a very large rookery (800 to 1,000 birds) consisting primarily of cattle egrets with some snowy egrets, little blue herons and even a breeding pair of anhingas.  The Heard’s wetlands are a critically needed habitat in this quickly developing area. It is truly a site to see! Contact us for more details.
