• Holiday Family Craft Workshop

    Join us for a midday gathering to take part in holiday and nature-themed crafting using recycled and found materials. Pre-registration is required for planning purposes. Click here to register. General admission is not included in the kit price (and is not required to participate in this program). General admission tickets are available separately at this link. Heard Museum members may enjoy their free general admission before and after this program. This program is open to participants of all ages (children ages 18 and under must be supervised by an adult).

    Participants should arrive no later than noon. The craft workshop will be available for participants to use to complete projects through 2 p.m.)

    Holiday Craft Kit    Register
    • $15 per craft kit
    • Each kit contains supplies to make one of each craft listed: 
      • Texas Snow Man Ornament
      • Tree Cookie Ornament and/or Gift Tag
      • Hanging Bird Suet Treat
      • Opossum Candy Cane Ornament
    • You may choose to purchase a craft kit for each person or one or more to share with your group—it’s up to you!

  • Second Saturday Bird Walk

    Monthly Bird Walks at the Heard The Heard Museum and Prairie & Timbers Audubon Society (PTAS) offer guided bird walks on the Heard Sanctuary. Walks begin promptly at 8 AM and last 1.5 hours (with optional extended time if some participants are interested). If you come a few minutes late the group may have already started their walk so it is important to be on time. Walks are included in regular admission and free for Heard Museum members. These bird walks are intended to help beginning and intermediate birders with bird spotting and identification techniques. There will also be plenty of opportunity for questions. Prairie, woodland, and wetland habitats are included in these walks.
