• Bee with Your Mom

    In honor of Mother's Day, we will offer a fun event for mothers and their families on the day before. Children can decorate a free bee house to give to their mothers from 10 a.m. to noon.  You'll also learn about native bees that build individual nests and create provisions for their offspring. During this event, animal ambassadors will be available to meet. This program is included in general admission and free for Heard Museum members.

    Learn about the life in and around ponds. You never know what you may find: dragonflies as adults and as aquatic nymphs, tadpoles and frogs, turtles, minnows, or maybe even a ribbon snake. We’ll look at these organisms up close and discuss why water is so important to the ecosystem.  We’ll also look at at aquatic and semi-aquatic plants and discuss why they’re just as important in habitat.  Be sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little wet and shoes that will be ok with a bit of mud.
