Treetop Adventures Ropes Course at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary offers a High Elements and Low Elements Ropes Course located within our beautiful deciduous forest. Our trained facilitators tailor each program based upon your desired learning outcomes. Using both low and high elements to highlight best practices and meaningful subject matter, we create a learning environment that encourages personal and corporate growth. Heard Ropes is dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences in a fun and engaging way to our community. All ropes course programs are available only by reservation.

Individuals and Small Groups
Individuals and small groups (comprised of nine or fewer persons) are welcome to participate in our pre-scheduled Zip Line Days and Adventure Days (as available). Prereservations are required for these programs. The ropes course can be scheduled for custom programs for groups of ten or more persons. For all programs, please wear closed toed shoes, and appropriate clothing for the outdoors. More information is available in our FAQ section below.
Zip Line Days
During our Zip Line Days, guests climb a 23-ft tree to our zip platform then proceed to a 487ft Zip line. Purchase one ticket ($12 each) for each time you would like to travel down the zip line.

During Adventure Days, guests will be able to participate in the Power Pole, the Bessie Climbing Tree, and the 500-foot long zip line. The Bessie Climbing Tree has climbing holds attached to a 200 year old Bur Oak and is a unique climbing experience. $35 per person.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I reserve a program for my group?
Please use the form below to place an inquiry. Heard staff will get in touch with you to discuss your group, share ideas and design a program that best fits your goals and group. We will then reserve a specific date and time to begin your program. Our ropes course programs are by reservation only.
How long do programs last?
Our program lengths depend entirely upon your organization’s time constraints. A full program day is 8 hours long. Multi-day or half day programs are also available options. During our prescheduled Zip Line Days, participants reserve a slot per hour. Adventure Days are 3 hours long.
How much do ropes programs cost?
Program pricing varies according to the following factors.

What are the size requirements to participate in high elements?
Our minimum and maximum sizes are based on whether or not the participant can fit into our harnesses. The minimum requirements are 10 years old and 75 pounds. There is no maximum age but maximum weight is 300 pounds. All participants must fit in a harness properly.
