General admission provides access to our exhibits, nature trails, gardens, and more. With so much to explore, guests are welcome to spend an entire day enjoying the Heard.
All visitors to the Heard are required to purchase a general admission ticket or become a Heard member. General admission is not valid for special events or educational programs requiring separate fees.
Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is a private (rather than publicly funded), nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Your support through financial contributions, such as your admissions fees, will help ensure the Heard will be sustained for future generations to enjoy.
Each unique exhibit in the Heard’s natural science collection will leave visitors with a richer understanding of Texas nature. Visitors can learn everything from how to spot venomous snakes to what prehistoric creatures called North Texas home billions of years ago.
The Heard is dedicated to the preservation, protection, and care of Texas wildlife. You can experience each of our five unique habitats while hiking the 6.5 miles of trails. Learn more here.
The Heard’s gardens exist to educate visitors on the importance of North Texas’ native plants. Not only beautiful and diverse, native plants shelter local wildlife and support pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is a proud participant of Museums for All. If you have an EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card, you may receive admission for up to 4 people at $5 per person. This benefit is not availble when purchasing online tickets and is available at the front desk only. An EBT card must be shown for discounted entry.
The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary offers free reciprocal admission through the ASTC Travel Passport Program as well as through a local agreement with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
ASTC Travel Passport Program: Free general admission for 2 adults and up to 4 children.
Perot Museum of Nature and Science: Free general admission for up to 5 guests. Please note that reciprocity is only available for Explore level members and above.
Fort Worth Museum of Science and History: Free general admission for up to 5 guests. Please note that reciprocity is only available for Wonder levels and above.
Free reciprocal admission is only available when purchasing tickets in person at our front desk. Please bring your membership card from a partnering location and a valid ID.
Please consider adding a small, tax-deductible donation to your ticket purchase today. The Heard is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and depends on the support of the public. Your support will help us continue to bring nature and people together. A gift as small as $5 could help feed two of our snake animal ambassadors for a week, for example.

Also, as a member of the Heard, you receive free or discounted admission at hundreds of participating science centers and museums nationwide through the ASTC Travel Passport program. Not only does membership offer terrific benefits, but it is also through the support of our members that we can continue doing what we do best—bringing nature and people together! Memberships are largely tax-deductible, as allowed, too.
